Michael Rickwood, founder of Vortolo Coaching and former ideas on Stage Senior Coach developed this Business Relationship training through his extensive desire to capitalize on one of his core talents, mediation. This workshop, which was initially developed by Michael's ongoing work with the World Bank in Washington, DC, while working with senior underwriters on 'professional tricky conversation' scenarios, aims to give participants an opportunity to explore their own difficult corporate relationships and client communication strategies and analyze where they can improve going forward.

Our methodology for this workshop

In our business relationships, we use our preparation, expertise and above all our executive communication skills in order to influence and persuade others. Combine these things together and I have called it 'performance' presence.

The 9-Concept Presence Framework for Business Relationships

To develop this workshop I have crystallised this notion of presence into 9 concepts, each represented by a keyword. 

Put together, these words resemble a coded sequence like a seed phrase (a password system used regularly in Web3 instead of passwords). 9 concepts which together form a great presence and influence.

For our purposes, this presence seed phrase is our methodology as we work through each of the 9 concepts to be more effective in our influence.

 

The entire session is a 3-hour workshop in executive communications training, resembles the following:

 

-Presence Work 

-Vocal work

-Roleplay and feedback Masterclass

Building up the individual case context/situations already assigned to each participant and then giving individual pointers for growth in the context of stakeholder management.

 

In each section, there are exercises to be performed individually, in pairs, or in groups, and some whole-group exercises. Note that there is more in this workbook than we will go through during the workshop: it is up to you to keep learning afterwards. The exercises will provide you with a framework you can use long after the course to prepare you for your conversations.
