Business Relationship Coaching 

 

When working in an uncertain and tense environment, how can you build win/win and long-lasting business relationships, even when the conversations are tricky? 

 

Most of us in business work in fields today where we need to build repeat business. One-off sales of goods and services without any thought of seeing the customer again, are a thing of the past. The way we conduct ourselves and our business today requires standards and clarity: it's a relationship where both interests need to met.

In corporate business whether you are working in the private sector or for a public institution, your presence, how you conduct your relationships and your reputation will determine your career. How do you navigate and succeed when things get tough and build connections that keep your clients onside? 

 

This workshop, which was initially developed by Michael's ongoing work with the World Bank in Washington, DC, while working with underwriters on 'tricky conversation' scenarios, aims to give participants an opportunity to explore their own business relationships and client situations and analyze where they can improve.

Our methodology for this workshop

In our business relationships we use our preparation, expertise and above all our communication in order to influence and persuade others. Combine these things together and I have called it 'performance' presence.

To develop this workshop I have crystallised this notion of presence in to 9 concepts each represented by a key word.

Put together, theses word ressemble a coded sequence like a seed phrase (a password system used regularly in Web3 instead of passwords). 9 concepts which together form great presence and influence.

For our purposes, this presence seed phrase is our methodology as we work through each of the 9 concepts to be more effective in our influence.

 

The entire session is a 3 hour workshop which resembles the following:

 

-Presence Work 

-Vocal work

-Roleplay and feedback Masterclass

Building up the individual case context/situations already assigned to each participant and then giving individual pointers for growth.

 

In each section, there are exercises to be performed individually, in pairs, or in groups, and some whole-group exercises. Note that there is more in this workbook than we will go through during the workshop: it is up to you to keep learning afterwards. The exercises will provide you with a framework you can use long after the course to prepare you for your conversations.
